Wraparound Care
What is wraparound care?
Wraparound childcare is childcare that is provided at either end of the school day to support working families or those with other commitments. It can also refer to childcare provision within the school holidays. Wraparound childcare is not the same as attending an after-school club, although there may be some overlap in practical terms. After-school clubs have the primary purpose of providing additional educational and sporting opportunities in a more relaxed setting and beyond the usual subjects taught within the school curriculum. Wraparound childcare is primarily focussed on ensuring that your child is safe, happy and in an environment that they will enjoy before and after school
In the David Ross Education Trust we strive to ensure that all of our primary schools are able to provide wraparound childcare between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 on all days when the school is open. If we are unable to do this then we will ensure that we can share information on other local childcare providers that are also able to take your child to school and pick them up afterwards so that parents have seamless care between these hours. For on-site childcare, may be provided by the academy directly or by an external provider using the academy premises. In all cases there will be a charge for the childcare, although we strive to ensure that this is kept to a minimum and schools may not make a profit from providing such childcare.

The academy does not benefit financially in any way from sharing information about wraparound childcare locally.

Before School Childcare
At The Arbours, we offer an inhouse breakfast club from 8am each day in our school hall. Spaces are available and must be booked via MCAS a week in advance to secure a place for a child. We offer a selection of breakfast items such as toast with jam/ marmalade and a range of cereals with milk. Morning sessions are charged at £3 per child per day.
After School Childcare
At The Arbours we offer a wealth of after school clubs which finish between 4.15pm-4.30pm.
Readwell Care, situated behind our school building at Manning Barn, offer a walking bus to collet children from our school. They offer childcare until 6pm daily.

The cost is £8.50 for an afternoon session.
Readwell Care offer a light tea for children in the afternoon care session.
Holiday Childcare
Readwell Care offer holiday childcare for children aged 2-11. See contact details above. This costs £22 per day from 8am-6pm.
