House System

Our House System

Ruby Red

Sapphire Blue

Amethyst Purple

Citrine Yellow

The house system is an integral part of The Arbours and is predominately utilised during inter-school competitions, which occur every half term. At the end of each term the house with the highest number of points throughout the term has reward time.

Throughout the year, children will earn house points to contribute to the wider schools house team, to earn rewards.

Our children are proud to be part of their house teams. Every child and member of staff is allocated to one of four houses, which they then support. Our house teams are grouped vertically which enables children to socialise and engage with peers and staff beyond their everyday environment. It is an essential part of school life as it facilitates a growing community spirit and enables children to participate collectively, involving children from all year groups who are contributing to something bigger than themselves.

Head Boy and Head Girl

Each house has a head and deputy house captain. This is an important role in promoting and supporting our schoolhouses. They support our staff in celebration assemblies. Taking great care of the house cup and promoting our school values within school at all times. Each week the winning team are celebrated, and the children receive a trophy which is then displayed with the winning house colours in the gallery.

The children support in house competitions and sporting events.

School Council

A member(s) from each year group are voted into the school council in order to represent their class/year group in meetings to support change and ideas within the school.

A new member for the class/year group will be voted in at the beginning of each year and and changed throughout the year if required.
