The Arbours unveil new Celebration Garden

Pupils at The Arbours Primary Academy are benefitting from a new outdoor area focused on simplicity and peace.

The brand new garden, which has been supported by the David Ross Celebration Awards, has successfully transformed the dull and uninviting area at the front of the school into a calm and peaceful place for the children to read their favourite books.

With help from a local landscaper, the pupils have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to renovate the outdoor area and create a tranquil setting.

As part of the new area, five raised flowerbeds of differing heights have been constructed, enabling pupils of all ages to plant flowers and take advantage of the seating area. The space also benefits from a special reading chair, which is surrounded by a willow screen to shield keen readers from any distractions.

Since the new creation has been unveiled, pupils have enjoyed spending time in the beautiful new area, which will help to enhance their learning and well-being.

Angela Rock, Deputy Headteacher at The Arbours, said: “This has been an extremely exciting project for both our pupils and staff from beginning to end.

“This new space has had a really positive impact for the children and has completely transformed the school entrance.

“Many thanks to the David Ross Celebration Awards. The creation of this incredible space would now have been possible without their kind support.

“We cannot wait to see this garden continue to grow each year.”
