Uniform

We have a school uniform and the expectation is that children will wear it with pride and show respect towards it at all times. Pupils will be taught to tuck their shirt in at all times and wear it with pride both in and out of the Academy.   All items can be bought from The Schoolwear Shop on Abington Square, Northampton

The David Ross Education Trust (the Trust) believes that uniforms are important element in nurturing a sense of identity and responsibility. All Trust academies have a uniform which is accessible to all pupils and their families and which represents value for money. The Trust and its academies are committed to supporting families experiencing hardship to ensure that all pupils can comply with their individual academy’s Uniform Procedures. If you would like further information on support please contact the office or speak with your child's teacher.  

The school has navy blue as its main uniform colour for cardigans and jumpers.  Uniform is available from The Schoolwear Shop on Abington Square, Northampton 

Expectations for Boys:

EYFS/Year 1, 2,3 and 4 - Grey, navy or black trousers/shorts, white polo shirt, The Arbours logo jumper, cardigan or fleece. Black or navy shoes.

Year 3 and 4 – as above but with optional white hard collar shirt with tie.

Year 5 and 6 - compulsory white hard collared shirt with tie,

Expectations for Girls: EYFS/Year 1, 2,3 and 4 - Grey, navy or black trousers/skirts/dresses/shorts, white polo shirt, The Arbours logo jumper, cardigan or fleece. Black, grey or navy tights. White socks. Black or navy shoes.

Year 3 and 4 – as above but with optional white hard collar shirt with tie.

Year 5 and 6 - compulsory white hard collared shirt with tie.

All items of clothing should be named.

PE kits must be kept in school in a P.E. bag. They will be sent home regularly for washing and checking. These must include:        

  • A pair of navy, grey or black shorts and tracksuit bottoms. (No cycling shorts etc.)    
  • A standard T-Shirt in house colour which will be given as a gift on joining the Arbours. No football or rugby tops.
  • Children’s P.E. will often be done in bare feet but some activities may require the use of black plimsolls or black trainers.

Swimming;

A hat is needed for swimming by both girls and boys – these are available from the school office.  

Jewellery;

Any jewellery worn including watches are the responsibility of the child. In the case of earrings children must be able to remove them themselves for PE/Games/Swimming.
