The Arbours house system is a very important part of life at our school.
House life is essential as it creates a community spirit and gives the children an opportunity to contribute to something bigger than themselves, a sense of team spirit that involves children from all year groups. Every child and member of staff is given one of four houses to be a part of.
The four houses are all named after shoe manufacturers in Northampton. This reflects the town's heritage and has also been a useful link for the school to get help and support from the local community. The children also support and raise money for charities in their houses.
House points are awarded for model behaviour, effort in learning and other good deeds. Pupils also participate and compete in competitions and events for house points. Every week, the house points are counted and success is celebrated with the cup being decorated in the winning house colours.
House points are tallied over the course of a term where at the end a winner is announced. The children in that house then choose a special event reward. At the end of the year, once all house points are tallied, the House Champions are announced!
