The Arbours Primary Academy is here to serve the local community and to ensure all feel welcome and valued.
At The Arbours Primary Academy, we are proud of our multi-ethnic community and the way we positively promote community and global cohesion. Members of the community are welcomed on a daily basis and parents are encouraged to join us for regular assemblies, end of term curriculum exits, celebrations, curriculum sessions and workshops, drop ins and special events such as Sports Day, Mother's and Father's Day and many more.
Our Family Support Worker team offer many courses based in the Academy tackling difficult issues that can affect our families - we also offer English courses to support our many EAL families.
Holiday clubs offer our pupils opportunities to join pupils from other schools to take part in a range of activities, these are subsidised for our families who are eligible for support. Our Academy also hosts religious groups, Brownies and Scouts meetings.
As part of our curriculum we follow the IPC which has International Learning Goals that help young children begin the move towards an increasingly sophisticated national, international, global and intercultural perspective and develop a sense of ‘international mindedness’. Each IPC unit has embedded within it, across the different subjects, learning-focused activities that help children start developing a global awareness and gain an increasing sense of themselves, their community and the world around them, as well as inspiring positive action and engagement with global issues
